Ralph Loren has two different aspects to his business life; entrepreneur and lawyer. He has practiced in all phases of intellectual property and licensing for over 35 years and for the last couple of years, has helped to start several small biotech companies, with a partial ownership interest in each. His current legal practice is primarily in deal work, with an emphasis on licensing and due diligence in the life sciences field. He also has years of litigation and patent prosecution experience. Ralph’s IP litigation experience includes lead counsel in numerous infringement actions related to biotechnology, chemical analyzers, computers, electronic equipment and mechanical devices. He has also been involved in a number of ANDA litigations and has been lead counsel in several interferences. His deal experience ranges from large to small M&A, due diligence and licensing transaction across technologies ranging from the pharmaceutical and biotechnology space to the software field. Ralph has been instrumental in licensing technology to, or from, most of the major pharmaceutical companies in the world, as well as helping small and mid-sized biotechnology companies, universities, hospitals and non-profits in their commercial transactions. Ralph was an adjunct professor at Boston University School of Law, and has lectured around the country and in Europe on a variety of patent, licensing and litigation topics. He is also the author of a book chapter on alternate dispute resolution and has written numerous articles in the licensing and patent space
