Dr. Suleman Bhana

Suleman Bhana, MD, is a board-certified rheumatologist, biopharma professional, and patient advocate dedicated to advancing care and research for individuals living with rare and complex diseases. With a background spanning nearly a decade in clinical practice and senior leadership roles in pharmaceutical medical affairs, he brings deep expertise in autoimmune and neuromuscular conditions, clinical research strategy, and patient-centered innovation. Dr. Bhana has been actively involved in global collaborative research efforts, was a medical podcaster, and has served in leadership roles within the American College of Rheumatology to advance education, digital communication, and community engagement. Dr. Bhana was diagnosed with GNE Myopathy in 2023 after presenting with 5 years of progressive symptoms. Since then, Suleman is dedicated to the mission of the Neuromuscular Disease Foundation, to improve quality of life of GNE Myopathy patients, and support the discovery of effective therapies and ultimately a cure for GNE myopathy.
