Gila Michael attended an exclusive French school in Tehran, moved to the United States, finished high school, and attended The Wharton School of Business. In addition to founding the Neuromuscular Disease Foundation, she has run several businesses and she loves to live life to its fullest.
Compelled to make a difference after her daughter was diagnosed with HIBM (GNE myopathy), Gila founded the Neuromuscular Disease Foundation herself, in a valiant and determined effort to impact science and find a cure for the young adults and families all over the world who have been affected by this disease at a time when there was little known about it and little research being funded for it. At the helm of the organization for its first fundraising galas, Gila raised the necessary funds and rallied the community to put the organization on its path to global success.
